Innovate UK names 100 women founders in largest cohort
Every awardee gets 12 months of tailored business support. The grant figures and the next application window are not yet confirmed.
Innovate UK has recognised 100 women founders under its Women in Innovation programme, which the agency says is its largest cohort to date.
The programme picks out women running technology businesses across the UK. All 100 will receive 12 months of tailored business support.
A further 61 of the cohort are singled out for separate treatment. The Gazette has not been able to establish what that treatment is, or how much money comes with it.
That gap matters, because the money is the part founders plan around. Previous rounds of the scheme have paired support with grant funding, but the Gazette is not publishing an amount it cannot source.
Nor is the next application window confirmed here. Founders who want to be in the following cohort should watch Innovate UK's own announcements rather than rely on second-hand dates.
What is solid is the shape of the offer: recognition, plus a year of structured help, awarded to a fixed and now larger number of founders. It is a competitive scheme, and 100 places is the ceiling.
For a founder weighing whether to apply, the practical question is whether 12 months of tailored support is worth the time an application takes. That answer depends on the grant attached to it, which is exactly the figure still missing.
